ARA News for August 2008
The Grascals released their third Rounder recording, Keep On Walkin', on July 15 and it debuted at #1 on the Billboard Bluegrass chart and, as of the moment, has remained there for four consecutive weeks. IBMA final round nominations are in and once again the guys are nominated for Entertainer of the Year as well asVocal Group of the Year. The band has also made it to the second ballot for CMA Vocal Group of the Year - way to go Grascals!
New releases coming in early 2009 from ARA artists: Special Consensus' new CD is entitled Signs, and will be released on Pinecastle Records. There is a new piece about it on the Bluegrass Blog and NewFound Road's new CD Same Old Places will be out on Rounder Records and here is a link to NFR's piece on the Bluegrass Blog.
Balsam Range has been busy out pickin' for folks this summer as has Ronnie Reno & The Reno Tradition, Sally Jones, and The Mark Newton Band. Make sure to get out and see the ARA bands in a live concert soon - you'll be happy you did!

When you pre-order a copy of The Grascals' new CD, Keep On Walkin', you will automatically be entered in a random drawing to win a TF360SBG model Takamine guitar! All preorders will be mailed on July 14 and will be autographed. Keep On Walking will also be available in a limited edition vinyl pressing for you collectors - very cool!
Also, The Grascals will be performing live in New York City on Saturday, July 5, on the CBS Early Show. Keep On Walkin' will also have its exclusive World Premier with Kyle Cantrell on XM's Bluegrass Junction on Tuesday, July 1 at 4:00 pm (eastern).
NewFound Road finished recording their new album and Engineer David Hall and Co-Producer Jim VanCleve have finished mixing. Rounder Records co-founder Ken Irwin states, "I think a lot of people will be surprised by this record....I was really impressed."
Balsam Range is having great success on numerous charts with their CD Marching Home. Climbing up to number 5 on the National Bluegrass Survey, number 2 on Bluegrass Now's Fan's Top 20 Chart, and also are on Gospel Truths, DJ Hot Picks, Bluegrass Music Profiles Top 20 Hot Singles and Top 10 Bluegrass CDs, XM Satellite Radio Charts, and Roots Music Report.
Special Consensus is getting ready to go overseas next month for over two weeks as well as traveling coast to coast and north to south here in the US and Canada. Be sure to catch up with the Special C boys this summer and enjoy some great pickin' and singin'!

ARA News for May 2008
The Grascals third album, Keep On Walkin', on Rounder Records is set to be released on July 15 on this year.
Special Consensus is working on a new recording for Pinecastle Records (at Brent Truitt's Nashville studio) - scheduled for an early 2009 release. They are looking forward to lots of touring this summer, including a July tour to play festivals in North Wales, Ireland and Scotland.
Balsam Range has been invited in showcase at the 2008 IBMA World Of Bluegrass Business Conference in Nashville, Tennessee!
Sally Jones & The Sidewinders are touring in Europe this month and have been having a great time. Also check out the review of her new CD, Songs About Us, in Bluegrass Unlimited's May issue.

ARA News for March 2008
Special Consensus is in the studio this month recording their next album with Pinecastle Records.
The Grascals have just put the finishing touches on their third recording for Rounder Records and are antipicating a late spring, early summer release.
NewFound Road is also still working on their second Rounder Records recording and hope to have it available by mid-summer.
Sally Jones & The Sidewinders are currently finializing an uncoming European tour for later this year.
The Mark Newton Band date at the Lucy Opry has been rescheduled for May 2, 2008 - the original date was cancelled due to inclement weather. Please join Mark and the band at the Bartlett Performing Arts Center on May 2nd.
Balsam Range recently recorded a Bluegrass Junction Studio Special with Kyle Cantrell for XM Satellite Radio. We'll let you know when you will be able to hear this great interview and performance.
Ronnie Reno & the Reno Tradition are looking forward to visiting with everyone out of the festival trail so please take a look at their tour schedule and get out and visit with Ronnie and the band soon.

At SPBGMA awards this year The Grascals and NewFound Road took home a total of four awards! NewFound Road won Contemporary Gospel Group of the Year and The Grascals took home Instrumental Group of the Year, Bluegrass Band of the Year (Overall), and Danny Roberts won Mandolin Player of the Year! Congratulations to all the winners!!
NewFound Road welcomes their new fiddle player Brandon Godman to the band. Brandon was present to accept the award for the band at the SPBGMA awards.
Andrea, Special Consensus, and The Grascals will be cruising the ocean from February 11th through the 19th on the Rhonda Vincent Bluegrass Cruise.
The Mark Newton Band will also be going on a cruise this month from 16th through the 23rd on the 10th Annual Bluegrass Music Cruise Royal Carribbean "Liberty Of Seas".

This month The Grascals will be in the studio to record their third album with Rounder Records. NewFound Road will also be in the studio recording their second album with Rounder. Check back for the albums' release dates.
Balsam Range is looking forward to a visit to Nashville, Tennessee in January for their first show at the Station Inn and while in Nashville they have scheduled interviews and in studio performances, we'll keep you posted with the details.
Special Consensus is looking forward to busy schedule in 2008 traveling coast to coast, north to south, and overseas to the UK again this summer.
We have been hearing good things about Sally Jones' latest CD. If you haven't checked it out yet, be sure to see what you're missing.
